Q: Are Zombies among us?
A: Turn on the television, pick up a paper, or look online and you will find reports of “cannibalism” and “Zombies” across the United States and in Canada. A man in Florida had his face eaten by a naked and seemingly crazed man. In Baltimore, a man has been arrested for cutting up and eating his housemates body and brain. A Canadian man has been accused of dismembering and eating the flesh of another man. These among a few other stories give the masses the impression that the Zombie wars may have begun, but what is really happening here?
The good news is that so far, this has all been sensationalism. Zombies do not currently walk among us, and we have little to fear but the handful of crazies that are and have always been out there hiding among us.
The bad news is that mass media uses tragic events, like those posted above, to boost their ratings and circulation. In light of mass media’s poor handling, exaggeration, and mislabeling of recent events, Zombease recommends looking elsewhere for the truth. Talk to your friends and neighbors, look to trusted sources and do research on what you read, don’t just take it for granted because someone else wrote about it… unless of course you hear it from us.
