Wind Your Watches

Another Mayan calendar has been discovered, but this time the “end of times” story is a little bit different. The ancient calendar, found in the Mayan city, Xultun, completely devastates the rumor of a 2012 end of the world scenario based upon Mayan prophecy.

This newly found calendar dates both thousands of years into the past and the future, but there is nothing to suggest when an “end times” scenario might take place. The Mayan’s weren’t fortune tellers, but they were scientists and astronomers. Through a system of tracking the cycles of the stars, they were able to predict seasons and future dates quite easily.

However, with a growing and ever-changing number of dangers to both the planet and it’s inhabitants, it’s just a matter of time before something hits the “reset” button.

There are nuclear and chemical weapons poised and ready to go, increasing civil unrest and political polarization across the globe, massive solar flares, hybrid grass releasing cyanide, and reports of drunken/drug fueled “Zombie” attacks. These things don’t add up to an “end-time”, but they do serve as a warning to us all.

Wind your watches, but don’t just wait as they wind back down. Step out of your bunker and into the sun. It’s time to talk to each other, start a garden, lessen your footprint, and be prepared for what may or may not come.
