Hoo-Rag The “Better Bandana”

Jake Hoo-rag review

From a simple head-cover, face-mask, bandage, sling, water filter and more; we all know the survival benefits of a well-made bandana. Their uses are almost endless, and their variety of styles and patterns the same, but what happens when a company tries to re-invent the wheel?

The folks at Hoo-rag took the classic cotton bandana, saw room for improvement, and made it a reality. Made of soft polyester micro-fiber that stretches and re-forms easily, the Hoo-rag is a seamless, tube-shaped bandana alternative. It succeeds at both comfort and usability, without sacrificing durability or style… and it does it exceedingly well.

The stretchy micro-fiber material and tubular design allows the Hoo-rag to be used for an incredibly wide range of styles without a bunch of fuss. It can quickly and easily change from an Alice rag, face cover, balaclava, head band, neck cover, and more, adapting to just about any situation you might need it for. And, just like a cotton bandana, a Hoo-rag can perform double duty as a sling, water filter, bandage, pouch, and more, limited only by your imagination and needs.

Available in over 50 colors, patterns, and designs… not to mention the option for custom designs, there’s a style of Hoo-rag for just about every occasion, occupation, and situation you can think of… including a bit of protection during a Zombie outbreak.

Whether you’re paying a visit to the mountains, desert, forest, or exploring an apocalyptic city, the ability to toss on a protective face/head cover quickly, and without the fear of it coming untied or falling down, is pretty priceless. We recommend a Hoo-rag to anyone looking for a quick and easy prep that adds a little comfort and protection to your day… Zombie infested or not.

Lightweight, low-cost, and long-lasting, Hoo-rags are a great piece of survival, camping, and preparedness gear for everyone from 6-60 (or above). Check out HooRag.com to grab a one ($14.95 each) and watch the video below for an example of the many ways this little heavy-hitter can be worn.

  1. I’d probably wear mine as a traditional bandana around my neck to protect my neck from the sun. It has the advantage of letting me quickly switch it to a face mask if I need to protect my lungs from smoke, gas, debris, etc.

  2. I just received 2 in the mail yesterday. I work in an industrial setting with the potential to come in contact with lots of dirt and smoke. I typically wear a traditional bandana to quickly pull up over my face when I didn’t anticipate needing a respirator or where extremely confined quarters where a respirator would keep me from moving through. (yes I know a respirator is far, far better and I always use one when I plan on being in a hazardous area, but sometimes it isn’t planned). in this regard the hoo-rag is quite superior to the traditional bandana. it also doesn’t stay damp from perspiration nearly as long. I suspect I will be buying more.
