Imagine calling your friend David to warn him of a Zombie outbreak in the area, he’d probably just hang up or starting laughing at you… and that might not go over too well in the long run. A password, spoken and only used among those that you trust, could lead to saving your life. Receiving and sharing reliable information, no matter how unbelievable is it, is a priority for building good survivor group relationships.
Passwords can be used over the phone/radio, in person, through written word, and even signing. They can be utilized for more than just a confirmation that what you are about to say is indeed the reality of the world. Passwords can be used to gain and control entry points, leave secret messages, verify safety and more. Create a password with your friends and family, but only use it when you really need too. We’ve all seen what happens when someone cries wolf one too many times… they get eaten, and it’s no different with Zombies.
Nice suggestion. A code word used only in dire circumstances can definitely cut short any arguments or humor. Hmm now to think of a word lol
This kind of goes along with “coding” a map; don’t do it on your maps you carry out from your “base camp”. Having a map with various points of interest can tell “outsiders” where your camp or supplies are in the event the map is taken from you; as in losing your map or nicely put, death. This simple overlook can lead to the demise of your friends, families, or group. Be Safe.
Thats a great point Doug, will definitely have to keep that in mind.
